Welcoming Rogo’s new President: Rahul Rekhi

Welcoming Rogo’s new President: Rahul Rekhi

We're proud to announce that Rahul Rekhi has joined Rogo as President.

At Rogo, Rahul will serve as a trusted advisor for our clients, partners, and senior stakeholders; lead our key priorities in areas like strategy, finance, and development; and help scale our organization and accelerate our efforts to transform Wall Street – and financial markets globally – with AI.

Across Washington and Wall Street

Rahul's unique experience spans Wall Street as an investment banking partner and the public sector across multiple presidential administrations. He brings rare expertise in both the mechanics of financial markets and the regulatory forces that shape them globally.

In government, Rahul worked as a policymaker and regulator at the White House, US Treasury Department, and the World Bank, advising on issues like international financial regulation, sovereign finance, and trade and investment while building relationships with regulators and executives across leading financial centers.

In investment banking, Rahul advised on $200 billion of transactions at Lazard and rose to become the firm's youngest-ever Managing Director. He helped C-suites and boards in healthcare and technology navigate transformative decisions while bringing innovation to the 175-year-old investment bank's operations.

Rahul created and led Lazard's special opportunities group, tackling complex cross-sector transactions, and partnered with the firm's data analytics team to pioneer machine learning applications for mapping client relationships and generating client insights.

I first met Rahul while at Lazard, where his strategic clarity and leadership made an immediate impression.

Where Reinforcement Learning Meets Dealmaking

Rahul's arrival to Rogo coincides with an inflection point in AI development. Progress is shifting from static models and chatbots to agentic systems that execute complex actions and learn from experience—what the AI world calls "reinforcement learning."

This means leveraging firms’ in-house experience, data, and accumulated expertise to develop AI that gets smarter with every trade executed, every deal analyzed, and every market move.

"The next phase of AI in finance isn't just about implementing off-the-shelf chatbots or search tools," Rahul explains. "It's about integrating the cutting edge of AI—multi-agent frameworks, advanced reasoning models, and custom training—with each firm's proprietary context, content, processes, and expertise. This requires deep collaboration and long-term partnership."

We see this moment as an opportunity to architect truly AI-native financial institutions—organizations where AI is fundamental to how markets are analyzed, deals are structured, and investments are underwritten.

Building the Future of Finance

In Rahul's view, this is a step toward markets that work better for everyone.

"We're at a pivotal moment where financial institutions that embrace AI transformation will develop compounding advantages in speed, insight generation, and operational efficiency,” Rahul notes. “AI-native institutions can serve markets more effectively, allocate capital more efficiently, and ultimately expand access to high-quality capital and financial advice.”

And the approach is already proving successful with leading partners who are seeing transformative improvements in productivity and research, deal analysis and execution, coverage and sourcing, and strategic insight.

We're excited to have Rahul join our mission to transform financial markets with AI. If you're interested in exploring how AI-native approaches could benefit your institution, or if you'd like to connect with Rahul about the evolving landscape, reach out to us at team@rogo.ai.
